A Story of 2 Crickets
Have you been having problems with these big black and brown crickets coming in your house too?
My big fat cat buttercup can only "torture" and eat so many. I think he is full up and fed up with them now. LOL 😆
I did notice something unusual about 2 incidents concerning a pair of crickets.
One is a bit bigger than the other in this pair.
The bigger one does all the planning, talking and act upon the decisions. After they talk together, a decision is made.
By watching these 2 at different times...I learned some things.
Of course they did not remain in my home...no matter how smart they are though. LoL
I'll tell you the 2 quick stories.
One was few weeks ago...as I was cleaning up and preparing my sunroom for the nice cozy fall weather for us to enjoy time in there.
Us being my furkids and my husband and I. Not the pair of crickets! 😂
There is a smallish creavas of the floor and the side panel on the door...
I heard unusual chattering...of crickets. It was not the loud annoying noises they usually do.
And then 2 popped out from under that area...together...and faced each other and chatted.
I watched as I sat in my swing chair in the sunroom.
Then I saw the big one jump on my bird feed storage box that has a lid...he was inspecting it.
He hopped back down to the smaller one and chatted. Continuing their "conversation."
I'll be dag gone!
I was watching in amazement.
I quickly got whatever I could find in my husband's "tool fixing things stuff."
When I got up...they noticed me, they went out from where they came in.
I Clogged up their seemingly, "secret entrance."
But not with my husband's fancy whatchamalits...
I know what a hammer is and screw driver. But whatever the rest is for, I do not really know. Lol 😂
So I got the aluminum foil!
I clogged up their secret passage way with it.
I did not want them little smart critters back in this house.
I could hear them later chattering about not being able to get in.
Little rascals.
I'm sure they found another way.
Maybe it was those two that I had another incident with in my dinning room this morning!
Here's that little story...
As you all know our Doberman Hans is a big boy.
I recently changed his feeding bowl to a slow feeder.
Because He loves to eat and gulps his food down in seconds.
Now... it takes him at least 5 to 10 minutes.
My furkids love a little homemade whip cream on the center top.
So once in awhile I do this for them.
I had put the dogs out in the pen to fix up their bowls pretty with their food and with
a bit of whippy cream.
And gave them fresh water in their bowls.
Then...In the quiet...I heard "Them"
Those 2 crickets. They were behind Hans feeding area.
Same chattering talk.
I listened.
I am pretty sure..it was the same 2 smart alecks from before!
I thought, "Oh my! Could it be them 2 again!?"
So I pulled back the edge of the water proof mat that had Hans bowls set on...
And There They Were!
Facing each other in conversation...again.
They stopped their chattering.
Silent.
The big one jumped quickly onto Hans bowl of food.
I knew their motive.
"Oh no you both don't!"
I gave the fat one, a flick of my finger.
He landed by his mate.
I told them to stay there.
"I am Not going to kill you...but I am going to scoop you up and put you outside in the morning glories."
So I got my covered dust pan and my broom.
Scooped them up and put them out, just like I told them.
What in the world is going on with crickets lately!?
Well hope you enjoyed my true story of, A Day In The Life Of Kim!
😆 lol
I love you all.
Ps I don't want to like crickets...but these two are interesting. LOL 😂
